DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Manager, Continuing Education and Strategic Projects to lead the development of innovative learning opportunities, drive strategic funding initiatives, and support the successful delivery of high-impact projects. This position plays a key role in fostering partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and advancing programming that meets the evolving needs of learners, industry, and the community.

Working closely with College leadership, academic departments, industry partners, and funding agencies, the successful candidate will help shape the future of continuing education and strategic initiatives while ensuring accountability, compliance, and operational excellence.  The successful candidate will also be responsible to: 

  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities that align with organizational priorities.
  • Develop and coordinate funding proposals and applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry, government, and community partners.
  • Coordinate internal proposal review and approval processes.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and outcomes.
  • Ensure projects are completed successfully and in accordance with organizational objectives.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to senior leadership regarding project outcomes, compliance obligations, and risk management.
  • Manage project budgets and resources responsibly.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and industry stakeholders to develop innovative lifelong learning opportunities that support workforce and community needs.
  • Explore and support the development of stackable credentials and flexible learning pathways.
  • Conduct market, environmental, and workforce analyses to assess learner demand, industry trends, and opportunities for program growth.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to support the design, approval, and launch of new and revised programs.
  • Evaluate program performance and recommend enhancements to improve learner outcomes and program sustainability.
  • Support partnerships that strengthen educational pathways and workforce development opportunities.
  • Create opportunities for work-integrated learning, articulation agreements, and educational pathways.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in project management, program development, strategic planning, or partnership development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, business cases, and funding proposals.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and project deliverables.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across departments and teams.
  • Experience within a post-secondary education environment; teaching or instructional experience; and experience working with government funding programs and reporting requirements.
