Members of our Hurricanes sports teams will be on hand to welcome new students and assist with moving items into residence rooms! Make sure to grab a free cookie from the tent outside Glendenning!

Enjoy a modern classic: Shrek (2001) and hang out with new friends! Come wearing your coziest clothes, bring your blanket and pillow and enjoy free popcorn and drinks.

Enjoy a night out and meet new friends! All º£½ÇÂÒÂ× students will have FREE cover from 10PM until Midnight. Please bring government-issued ID and your Holl Pass if you have it (if you don’t have your Holl Pass yet don’t worry)!

CHARLOTTETOWN WALKING TOURS (*PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED*)
1:00 PM | DEPARTING PRINCE OF WALES CAMPUS QUAD (ON GRAFTON ST BETWEEN GLENDENNING RESIDENCE AND MCMILLAN CENTRE)

Join in on this free guided walking tour of all the places in Downtown Charlottetown that you’ll need this year. Post office, study spots, nightlife, restaurants/coffee shops and more! The tour will take roughly 1 hour.


CONNECT IN THE QUAD
2:15PM PRINCE OF WALES CAMPUS QUAD (ON GRAFTON ST BETWEEN GLENDENNING RESIDENCE AND MCMILLAN CENTRE)

Kick off the year and meet new friends! Meet us in the quad for lots of team games, treats, and fun! Students are encouraged to wear a white T-shirt that your new friends can sign their names on! (*This event is weather dependent!)

FIRST DAY OF CLASSES!

Greeters will be present across all º£½ÇÂÒÂ× locations to guide you to your classroom. Please refer to your program information page on the Orientation Hub for further details on your program orientation.


º£½ÇÂÒÂ× COLLEGE SCAVENGER HUNT
START: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 AT 9AM; END: SEPTEMBER 3 AT 3:30PM

Pick up your Scavenger Hunt sheet and solve the riddles to find the locations around your campus, then fill in your sheet with the stamps. Completed sheets must be returned by 3:30 on Wednesday to enter your team in the prize draw.

Pick up your clue sheets at all the following locations:

  • Prince of Wales Campus: Room 103W (just inside Weymouth St door)

  • Tourism and Culinary Centre: Student Services Area

  • Summerside Waterfront Campus: Main Office

HURRICANES ATHLETICS AND RECREATION

º£½ÇÂÒÂ× hurricanes LogoTo get the most out of your college experience, get involved in athletics, fitness, and recreational activities. Our Athletics and Recreation department provides students with an outlet to express themselves through physical exercise and wellness no matter what level. Regular exercise can have a profound and positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood in a very social setting to meet other students. There are many classes for you to consider benefiting you in wellness, fitness or Intramurals. 

STAY ACTIVE WHILE YOU STUDY

º£½ÇÂÒÂ× has a fitness Centre, cardio room, walking track and studio located in the  on the Prince of Wales Campus, and offers fitness and recreation programming to students. Our own Hurricanes Physiotherapy clinic is located on the third floor serving students, staff and the general public.

All full-time students at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×’s Prince of Wales and Tourism and Culinary Campuses have a membership to the McMillan Centre included in their tuition fees - simply come to the McMillan Centre front desk with your HollPass to activate your membership.
